The sin of unforgiveness is life threatening poison affecting the Body of Christ producing a toxic condition. Un-forgiveness distresses one’s health physically and predisposes them to other mental health conditions. It is worth noting that un-forgiveness has been documented as one of the causes of cancer. In my nursing care experiences, I have seen the results of many medical conditions, and I would venture to say that cancer is one of the deadliest and vilest diseases I have seen.
Research has demonstrated a reliable connection between forgiveness, physical and emotional health. I have witnessed the toxic effects of chronic anger and/or stress related issues. These toxic effects interfere with proper functioning of the immune system, elevate blood pressure, as well as stress hormone levels. In working with patients with physical and emotional illnesses, refusal or inability to forgive almost always brings inescapable consequences. Various healing and deliverance ministries have found that long-term un-forgiveness is a leading root cause of disease. When the wounds of unforgiveness are not dealt with biblically, the person is affected both physically and spiritually. The enemy is glorified by vexing the person inwardly and persecuting others outwardly.
